Bryson “Rewards” Local Charities in New Recycling Campaign

Bryson Recycling has joined forces with two local councils to launch a new recycling scheme which aims to boost local recycling rates while raising much needed funds for charity.

Through the “Recycling Rewards” campaign, £1 will be donated to charity for every tonne recycled at the five Household Recycling Centres located in Conwy County Borough Council and Denbighshire County Council. The campaign will last for a year and the two charities that will benefit are St David’s Hospice and St Kentigern Hospice, who deliver free, high-quality, specialist care to local people living with life-limiting illnesses.

Bryson Recycling are now managing the three Recycling Centres in Denbighshire Council County Council, Rhyl, Ruthin and Denbigh, in addition to the two in Conwy County Borough Council area, Mochdre and Abergele, which they have been running since 2014. For every tonne recycled at the Denbighshire sites, £1 will be donated to St Kentigern Hospice; for every tonne recycled at the Conwy sites, £1 will be donated to St David’s Hospice.

This is just one of many community-based initiatives the social enterprise plans to introduce as they expand their operations in North Wales.

Gareth Walsh, General Manager at Bryson Recycling said:

“We are delighted to launch our Recycling Rewards campaign, partnering with two such worthwhile local charities. Through this initiative, we hope to raise awareness of the importance of recycling and the positive contribution it makes to the communities where we live and work. I would encourage local householders to do their bit for the environment and recycle as much as they can at our sites – the more you recycle, the more we donate. We are looking forward to working in a collaborative partnership with both councils to introduce our innovative approach to recycling across all five sites with the aim of increasing recycling and reuse whilst providing an excellent service to local residents. We are also keen to look at new ways to engage and work with local communities.”

Michaella Brannan, Community & Event Fundraiser at St Kenitgern Hospice, said:

“Thank you to Bryson Recycling for supporting St Kentigern Hospice through their Recycling Rewards campaign, we’re delighted to have been chosen! Not only are they helping the environment, but the donations made will make a massive difference to end of life and palliative care for our patients in North East Wales.”

Margaret Hollings, Commercial Director at St David’s Hospice said:

“We are so proud to be chosen as one of the charities for this campaign and I am grateful to Bryson Recycling for giving the hospice this opportunity.  Not only will the recycling campaign financially benefit our work, but it will also draw attention to a larger worldwide issue which is avoiding landfill and being more socially responsible.  Here at St David’s, we are fully onboard and excited about the difference the partnership can make”.
