Our ‘Recycling Rewards’ campaign is a unique approach to encourage recycling and let us give something back to the local community where we deliver our services.
We launched this annual campaign in Northern Ireland in 2016 in partnership with three local companies Cherry Pipes, Encirc and Huhtamaki, who transform the recycling that we collect from you into new products.
For every tonne of paper, plastic and glass recycled through our kerbside service £1 is donated to a local charity.
This year's Recycling Rewards campaign in Northern Ireland is supporting the 'Byson Fund' which is delivered by the Bryson Charitable Group. The 'Bryson Fund' was launched in 2020 to help people in our local community who were severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
We launched our Recycling Rewards campaign in Wales in 2020, where £1 is donated to charity for every tonne of garden waste we collect in the Conwy Council area. In December 2020 we donated £6100 to Conwy Food Bank who provide vital support to individuals and families in the Conwy area.
Previous Campaigns
2019
Our last campaign in 2019 raised over £21,000 for MACS NI who provide a range of specialist services for children and young people who have experienced difficult times in their lives.
Our funding helped support 2 new projects being run by MACS NI, a new groundbreaking therapeutic home on the outskirts of Belfast called ‘My House’, which is helping children with complex needs that cannot be supported by children’s homes or foster care and Muddy Paws, a young people led social project that involves providing walking and grooming service to pet-owners.
2018
In 2018 the campaign supported PIPS (Public Initiative for the prevention of Suicide and Self Harm) with over £16,000 being donated. This funding helped them continue to provide a range of services to those who need it most. PIPS deliver more than 400 hours of counselling each month, deal effectively with any crises cases instantly, offer support to friends and family affected by suicide and help educate people on mental health, the signs to look out for and early intervention.
2017
In 2017 we donated over £12,000 to the Children's Heartbeat Trust, who provide vital support for children that are often diagnosed with life changing conditions. This allowed the charity to provide financial support to over 20 families undergoing heart surgery and related treatments. They also purchased 13 Coagucheck machines allowing children to monitor their own heart condition effectively at home, bought a defibrillator and also provided 35 counselling sessions for parents upon their child’s diagnosis.
