Recycling Collection Safety

Please follow these simple guidelines to ensure that we keep everyone safe during recycling collections.

Batteries

We are unable to collect household batteries through our recycling collection service.

When batteries are collected mixed with other recycling they can combust during the collection and recycling process, which can result in a fire.

You can dispose of household batteries at your local Council Household Recycling Centre. There are also collection points available in many supermarkets and shops.

Gas Canisters

Do not put gas canisters in your recycling container at home, as they also pose a fire risk in our collection vehicles and at our recycling plant.

All gas canisters should be taken to your local Council Household Recycling Centre where they can be disposed of safely.

Vapes

Never put vapes in your recycling container at home as they can ignite when crushed in our vehicles and at our plant.

You can dispose of vapes at your local Council Household Recycling Centre. There are also collection points available in many supermarkets and shops.

Aerosols

Aerosols can be recycled through our collection service. Please ensure that they are empty to reduce risk of explosions during processing.

Glass

Glass can be collected through our recycling collection service. Please ensure it is placed in your recycling container - never put glass in an overflow bag.

Please Park Considerately

When you park your car please leave our collection vehicle plenty of space to drive down. This helps us ensure that we can collect recycling from every household on your street.
